Calendar and bookings
The calendar: bars, dragging, the day panel and the sky
The calendar is the rack: a row is a room, a bar is a stay. Everything you do with the mouse happens immediately - there is nothing to save.
In the panel: Calendar
How to do it
- 1Click an empty day in a room's row to create a booking. The price comes from your list.
- 2Drag a bar to move the stay to another date or another room. Drag its edge to lengthen or shorten it.
- 3Hover a bar: a card gives you the guest, the dates, how many people, which channel, and what is still owed. A click opens the whole booking.
- 4The day panel on the right answers the morning's questions: who is arriving, leaving, staying; what booked itself online; what is held without a confirmation; who owes money.
- 5Above the day columns sits a nine-day forecast - each day exactly above the day it belongs to.
What catches people out
A hatched bar is a booking from another portal, and all we know is that the nights are gone. There is no name because the portal did not give one - that is not a fault and cannot be 'fixed'.
